The charge may not seem like much in the UK, but it's pretty high for USD. Sorry - can't do the bucks. I didn't want to drop the podcast, but you are pricing it out of range for us poor senior citizens - we don't get a free ticket like you Brits do.

I enjoyed lesson 1 and downloaded extra materials FREE.Thankyou.

Now I go to lesson 2 and I am reqired to PAY for extra materials! Gracias, but NO. Very unfair - feel like I have been sucked in - - almost.

Bill - Coffee Break Spanish has developed over the past few months along the same lines as pretty much every other language-learning podcast. The main podcast itself is free, but extra materials carry a small charge. There are significant costs for hosting the podcast and the additional materials which must be covered in some way. We hope that these will be covered by some users paying for the bonus materials. If not, we'll have to include advertising in the podcasts. Of course, there are also very significant time implications for the production of a weekly show.

We don't intend to "suck anyone in" - the costs are clearly explained on the website and the reasons behind having to charge for the extra materials are fully given. It is also clearly stated that lesson 1 materials are offered free to give users a chance to decide if they feel that the bonus materials are of sufficient use to them to justify spending the £2.00 to purchase them. Users are entirely free to do what they want!

There's a fair bit of discussion on the forums about the bonus materials. I'd suggest you have a look there.
